Summer

The semester is almost over with just several weeks left. That means summer is near, which ask the question what should I do the whole summer? Well since I will be going home for the summer, I need to get a job for those couple of months to save up as much money as I can. Although I havn't been searching for any summer jobs, I am considering doing some volunteer work with potential employers that I may want to apply for. I think it's a good idea just to get my name out there and to learn a few things along the way. Also it will look nice my resume. The down side to volunteer work is that there is no pay check.

Portfolio

This week I am completing my internship portfolio that I have been working on this semester. The portfolio will be sent to several companies that I will be applying for in hopes for an internship during spring semester of 2009. It seems a long time from now, but if can secure myself with a good internship early it would take a lot of stress off my back. I am also considering other options instead of hospitals or clinical settings.

Search continues

I'm still in the internship search process, even though it won't be till next spring semester I would like to start the search early. I recently spoke with the director of the behavioral health department at a hospital. We talked about the different positions and types of responsibilities in the department. There are positions that really interested me, however he referred me to another person at a different department, which is closely related to my major and something I could end up applying for. I sent the person an email trying to find out more information on the department. Right now I am waiting for a response back from him.
